When I dropped Evie off at the church nursery yesterday, all the wonderful ladies that work there said, "Oh good Ee-vie is here! We love Ee-vie!" And I didn't correct them. They were so sweet and happy to see her that I couldn't find it in me to say, "No, it's Evie." And that made me sad. Do we just shrug our shoulders and say, "Oh well." Will Evie never have the heart to correct her teachers and always be called Ee-vie at school? Maybe she'll have Anne Shirley's personality and demand perfection on her name. Whatever the case may be, at least those of you reading this blog will know how to say her name (or else you're now going to be completely confused and when you see her you'll be thinking, "Oh no, which one did Melissa say that it was?" But don't worry, I will correct you gently.)
So, here is what Evie with a Short E has been up to this week:
With Aunt Julie in her "Potty like a Rockstar" t-shirt
We had a playdate with Cousin Logan. It was very hard to get them all to sit still for a picture.
Evie is really wanting to be a big kid now. We go to a playgroup with mostly 2 year olds, and she tries her hardest to keep up with them. It's exhausting for her, though!
Hannah got a new picnic table and Evie loves sitting at it with her.
Our little girls with their battle scars. It's tough being a kid. (Just don't ask how they got these.)
With our wonderful neighbor and her sweet girl who would smother Evie with hugs and kisses if we let her.
Evie has reached some milestones this week. She cut her first tooth (which has not been fun for any of us in this household, but the little tooth is awfully cute), and she is this close to crawling. Her usual mode of transportation is slithering around on the floor (quite fast I may add) but she is rocking on those knees and a few times she has actually moved forward on her knees. Oh boy, I don't know how to contain this little girl anymore! I hope you all have a great week!
Hey Liss. Evie will probably spend a lifetime teaching people how to say her name correctly. :) I'm 32 and still am called Even, Erin, whatever. In fact at church yesterday a neighbor addressed me as Erin and I didn't have the heart to correct her. Next time I will. :) You gave her an awesome name, and even if she groans in elementary school about it she will love it when she gets older!!!
