BUT.... the only thing we were able to do was get away for a night. As soon as we got home, I got hit with a 24 hour stomach flu, and the rest of my family (except Evie) all got it on different days of the week, so for the entire week one of us was sick!
And, to top it off, New Hampshire had just had a warm spell, therefore the lake was no longer frozen over (although there were still a few crazy snowmobilers that went across the lake).
And Chris ended up having a huge school project to complete over his break (he was working with 2 girls that I like to call flighty perfectionists- not a good combination).
And I was not able to meet Emily's new pride and joy because of our bout with the stomach flu (though I hope to meet him this summer!).
But despite all this, we still had a great time. Evie was as happy as a clam having so many people around. She loved all the long hallways at my parent's place. She loved having someone always available to read her a book. She loved Skyping with Hannah (and she asked for it constantly). And she loved her very first Dunkin Donuts Munchkin! This ended up being the only picture we took on this trip, but it is definitely an important one!
Evie misses my parents. She wandered aimlessly around our house Monday with her hands behind her back. Whenever she heard a noise that sounded like someone coming down the stairs she would look up with a big smile. I'm so thankful that Evie loves both sets of grandparents, and we are so blessed that they all have touched such a big part of her life.
Sorry to hear you got sick! Sounds like you made the best of it anyway. ;)
