For the first event, Chris won tickets to the Nutcracker through his company. It was in a beautiful theater, and our seats were in a suite, so we were served food and drinks throughout the show.
There were so many moms there with their young daughters. Made me excited to be able to do that with Evie someday. But this year I'm glad that Chris was excited to go with me. I had never been able to convince him to go to a ballet before. :)
The next event was thanks to my Very Cool brother. This past summer, he was working for my parents at their inn, and he heard that Jars of Clay and a couple other bands would be playing at a local Christian festival. So, he decided to contact them to see if they wanted to go water skiing when they had some free time. Charlie and Matt from Jars of Clay took him up on the offer, and Jeff spent the afternoon boating around the lake with them.

As a thank you, Charlie gave Jeff 3 tickets to their Christmas concert that took place in our area. The venue was a dinner theater which made it even more of a memorable experience. Charlie met with us before the show to catch up. It was so neat to be able to meet someone who's pretty well-known, and yet not be the typical fan who's just trying to get their autograph!
It was a beautiful and fun concert. Charlie is in the center playing piano, and Matt is on the right playing guitar. (As a little side note, when we were visiting our friends in Nashville in May, Evie was in the church nursery with Matt's son!)
Then, also thanks to my Very Cool brother, Jeff got he and Chris tickets to the Patriots/ Redskins game through connections with his work. But these weren't just tickets- these were tickets for a suite complete with a full meal and field passes before the game. That's the way to watch a football game!
I'm sure these guys were important- I just couldn't tell you who they were.
Gotta love the Hogettes!
Finally, this event wasn't quite free, but may as well have been at only $2. Evie and I attended a Tiny Tots concert with our MOPS group that a high school band put on for the community. She loved the music, but anytime a character dressed as Frosty, Rudolph, or Santa came near, she clung to me for dear life. She likes them much better at a distance!
Oh, how did this picture get on here? My sweet little girl is becoming a big girl now. She helped me make cinnamon rolls one morning. She's growing up way too fast, yet I love the stage that she's in right now.
We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! We'll put up more posts about our holidays soon!
What fun! It's been a good year, huh? (Your family is so cute!)
