Evie has been really into writing lately. She'll see me write my lists on my notepad in the morning, and she'll ask to do the same. Allow me a "teacher" moment to brag about my child: Look at her pencil grip! She learned this all on her own, and I am quite proud!
Although sometimes she'll switch to her left hand. That's ok, though! Maybe she'll be ambidextrous :)
Valentine's Morning! I realized that having a child's birthday so close to a holiday can get complicated. Luckily Valentine's Day isn't one of the big ones, but we still kept it very low key this year.
For our third year in a row, Chris and I had a fondue meal at home. We look forward to this tradition every year. I think I've now found the perfect combination for chocolate fondue: equal parts bittersweet and semi-sweet chocolate and cream. It was so yummy!
Evie's 2nd Birthday! She woke up to us singing "Happy Birthday" with cinnamon rolls and candles. We could tell that she knew she was special on this day. She had a more jumpy stride in her step, and she got a look of pride on her face whenever someone said happy birthday to her. It was a special day!
And her gift from us was a new baby doll. This will hopefully keep her happy when Mommy's having to care for the real baby. So far, she has taken on this mothering experience very well.
For dinner, we went to Friendly's. Evie got her very first kid's meal and ice cream sundae. She was so happy!
And finally, we have been having tea parties at this house. Lots and lots of tea parties. Oh my word, I can't tell you how many stuffed animals have been invited to tea parties here. Evie is very specific about where she wants each one to sit, but she mostly likes to sit on her teddy bear's lap. We definitely see a Tea Party themed birthday party in the near future!
But we'll see how I feel once March comes around!
so so fun!! :) love you guys!!!
