By this age, this is what we did with Evie:
Slept until 11 AM
Slept until 11 AM
Bathed her everyday
Went on maybe 1 walk
Attempted to go to church (didn't make it)
Attempted to go on a date night (didn't make it)

Here's what Cora has experienced in her first 2 1/2 weeks:
Sleeps until 8 AMGotten 1 official bath (I know, it sounds horrible, but her umbilical cord still hasn't fallen off and baths are no fun until that happens)
Walked to the playground every single day
Gone to MOPS with her mama
Gone on a date night with mom and dad
Experienced Trader Joe's more than once
Had play dates with multiple children
"Played" at the playground at Uncle Jeff's Chick-Fil-A
Shopped at a consignment store
Slept through church (even through the loud music!)
Yeah, we've gotten out much more this time around. Having a busy 2 year old makes that a necessity. Plus, we haven't had to adjust to our entire world and lifestyle changing with a newborn. We already went through that 2 years ago, so getting out hasn't felt like as much of a chore.
Chris is home with me for 2 more days, so I'm soaking up every moment with him here!

Here's what we've been up to this last week:
My friend, Christi, came over to make us dinner. Evie absolutely loved her! While Christi was making dinner, Evie got her teddy bear and book and sat in the kitchen the whole time. It was so cute!
We love our undistracted time with Cora after Evie has gone to sleep. She's usually wide awake at this time, so it's fun interacting with her.
I forgot how small newborns are. What a difference changing the diaper of a 2 week old versus a 2 year old. I think Evie likes being the bigger sister.
She wants Cora to have tea parties with her and run at the playground with her. I know she'll love it when Cora becomes a playmate!
With my whole family here for a weekend, we attempted a family picture but we didn't time it very well. The sun was in our eyes, and the photographer got in the picture as well.
The weather has been so beautiful. I am going to to take advantage of this outdoor time before I hibernate in the sticky, hot summer. We went down to Old Town for the morning and had some treats from Starbucks.
And Daddy did all the active stuff with her. Thank goodness he has so much energy!
looks like fun!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou make it look so easy Melissa! I'm so glad it's been a good transition from one to two. I am sure it's so different with a newborn the 2nd time around. I can't wait for Laila to be a big sister...I love those pics of your girls on the floor together. Just precious!
