We've actually been back from this summer vacation for about 3 weeks now, but I've been too lazy to actually post about it. We were in such a restful mode the whole time that it was hard to get back to the grind of life.
I ended up going up to NH with Evie for 1 week on our own, then Chris came up a week later along with the Duncans. So my whole family had 1 whole week together at the lake which hasn't happened in years!
Evie very easily adjusted to life on the water. She is a natural water baby as you can tell from the photo!

The only problem was that once we put the life jacket on her she would not move...at all. So even when she fell over while sitting on the boat, she stayed in this position, stick straight, until I took a few photos of her, had a good laugh, and finally rescued her.

For every meal we had great views of the wa-bee (translation: water).

And of course, Evie had ice cream, almost every night. And, ok, we did, too.

I love this picture of Jon and James.

The girls played in the sand for hours. They had very important things to do down by the beach.

Their first kayak trip!

There's nothing better than rolling down the hills with your Daddy.

Sometimes our lake looks like an ocean! It was crazy this day!

All dressed up for church. And of course, we had to dress the girls in matching clothes and pig tails- just like Sandy and I used to do!

Don't you just feel relaxed looking at this view?

Evie's first blueberry pancake from Ames Farm. Can you tell that she loved it?

And for another food shot, we all ate dinner at Sawyers- the best fried clams you can get anywhere. I even think they beat Woodmans.

My parents treated us all to a night at the Mount Washington Hotel. It was a beautiful spot with wide open lawn for the kids to run through. We had an amazing time!

I'm so glad we had a moose spotting while up in the mountains! I get one about every 5 years.

This was the perfect year to take the kids to Storyland. They were all free (!) and they could go on most of the rides.

The old woman in the shoe. I think Evie walked in and out of that shoe 10 times. It was one of those times where I just wanted to let her do what she wanted, but really, there were so many better things to see than this shoe!

Like this amazing piano!

And look at what else she would've missed out on!

Her first ride was on the spinning teacups with Uncle Jeff.

Waiting in line for the flying shoes!

Visiting Cinderella's castle. We took a pumpkin ride up to the castle.

The girls were in awe of Cinderella. I have not yet read fairy tales with Evie, but it's amazing how she still knew that Cinderella was someone to be enchanted by!

With Grandpa on the flying shoes.

And the end of our adventure.

We had such a great time with my family. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for all you did to make our stay so wonderful!
Love seeing these photos! Evie is sure getting big. How wonderful that you were all together! I sure miss New England though I did get up to Gloucester for a day in April. Maybe I'll make some Chowdah....
