Easter Weekend

We had a great weekend of being outdoors in the beautiful weather.  I always love it when Easter Sunday ends up being a beautiful, sunny day.  So appropriate for what we are celebrating!

On Good Friday, we went downtown to the Botanic Gardens and then played frisbee on the Capitol lawn.  We live in such an amazing place, yet often we forget to take advantage of it.  We're trying to do more of that this spring.

Evie loved playing with the fountains everywhere.  She even helped to clean up one of them!

We're really working on the whole "look at the camera and smile" thing.

What better place to have a snack than on the Capitol lawn.

Evie was so happy running through the grass.  There's something about wide open spaces.

Then we decorated eggs.

Cora was a huge help!

On Easter Sunday, Chris' parents went to church with us, and then we had brunch at their house.  Julie and Mike did a great Easter egg hunt for Evie.  And as you will see, she was well-photographed!

Then we had a final Easter egg hunt at Sandy's place.  The kids didn't do so well with this one because they kept wanting to open up each egg that they found which meant that candy and Goldfish would fall on the grass.  But they still loved it!

I feel like a failure as a mom.  I didn't get any pictures of the two girls together in their Easter outfits.  So this one will have to suffice.  But instead of beautiful dresses, you're getting out-of-season Christmas pj's with a gender-neutral sleep sack.  Oh well, there's always next year!
