Politeness

Evie is going through a Polite Stage right now.  She is thanking us for Everything.  Here are a few examples:
"Thank you, Mommy, for putting drops in my ears." (for her ear infection)
"Thank you, Daddy, for feeding me my supper." (that she was refusing to eat on her own)
"Thank you, Mommy, for cutting my hair." (after she had been whiny and squirmy through most of the process)
"Thank you, Mommy, for giving me a bath." (after she had been disobeying and splashing Cora most of the time)
"Thank you, Daddy, for tucking me in." (after she had tried numerous tactics to stall the process)

Through all the headaches that come with raising a 2 1/2 year old, there are many, many adorable moments.  We'll have to remember this when she's 13 and no longer thanks us for anything.
And while we're at it, let me take this moment to thank Our parents for all that you did for us.  We don't realize the love and care that you gave us for our many years of growing up until we have kids of our own and understand all the work involved.  So, I'm sorry that you didn't hear it enough from us while we were growing up, but know that we appreciate you more now than ever!
