Camping

We took the plunge again and went on a fall camping trip with our girls and our friends.  It was a quick weekend trip, and certainly not the easiest weekend ever, but it was so nice to be in the woods, sleep in the outdoors, cook outside, make campfires, and take hikes.

The guys went fly fishing at the lake.

Probably the best campfire ever.

Evie was really excited about her new pink chair.

Brandon made beef jerky.  Evie loved it.  Doesn't she look like a redneck here?
Poor Cora was not happy to be out of her comfortable environment for sleeping.  She loved being outdoors most of the time but when it came time for her to nap, oh, she would not have it!  She let us, and everyone else in the campground, know that she did not want to sleep in the tent.  It was a little stressful, and I certainly got some looks in the morning by other campers, but when they saw her cute smiling face they were pretty forgiving.
Evie was a rockstar!  She is fully potty trained now.  And when I say fully trained, I mean public toilet-trained, woods-trained, overnight-trained, 3-hour-car-ride-trained.  She's awesome.  The first week was one of the most miserable of my life, but then one day she just decided that she hated the feel of wet pull-ups and she never had an accident again!  That definitely made our trip so much easier!  That, and she made friends with the 4 year old next door so she was happily occupied with a new friend.
