Finally!

I don't know if you all remember that around this time last year I went to a yard sale where everything was $1, and I got this beautiful pure oak table. My plan with it was to stain it right away to match the dark wood in our house.

Well, 1 year later I finally got that job accomplished. Now it actually looks like it matches our house, and I don't have to put a tablecloth on it to hide the color!

So, for approximately $6 for stain and $1 for the table, I'd say I got a steal for a "new to us" kitchen table. I couldn't be happier!

(Just don't look too closely at the stain job- I'm certainly not a professional, but in pictures it looks good!)
