Likes and dislikes of pregnancy this time around

Likes:
  • I'm able to wear comfortable, casual clothes every day instead of the teacher clothes I wore last time.
  • I received a great supply of maternity clothes this past week from someone almost my exact size. What a blessing since I didn't have many comfortable, casual maternity clothes from last time!
  • I'm noticing the baby move A LOT more, even though it does keep me up at night.
  • Evie's starting to show interest in the baby. We keep our ultrasound pictures up on our fridge, and everyday she wants to look at the "baby." She has also been found laying down with her baby doll on her belly to be like mommy.
  • Strangers aren't afraid to comment on my pregnancy. Believe it or not, I like that. Even though my weight gain is about the same, I'm looking much more pregnant than last time. At 21 weeks now, I look about how I did at 28 weeks last time- the time when strangers started commenting.
  • Food tastes SO GOOD to me right now! Thankfully that hasn't affected aforementioned weight gain, but for some reason I'm really enjoying everything I eat!
  • I kind of like walking around in public being obviously pregnant with a toddler by my side. It makes me feel even more like a mom.
  • The ultrasound pictures were amazing! I think this time it affected me so much more because I had the experience of seeing those pictures become reality in a little person. Last time even though it was awesome, I didn't really "know" that it was a person inside me.
  • I'm nesting so much right now and have the motivation to do something about it. With Evie, I didn't get that urge until the very end when I could barely move!

Dislikes:
  • Since I feel bigger than last time, I've already started to waddle (I didn't believe it until I saw myself on video!)
  • It's hard playing on the ground with a toddler all day.
  • I feel a little more nervous about having a newborn since now I know firsthand what those first 3 months are like.
  • I'm much thirstier, which means I have to go to the bathroom a lot more, which means that I have to walk up and down the stairs probably 15 times a day.
Now that I'm done with that awful 1st trimester, I really am enjoying this pregnancy even more this time. As I've said before, I think it's because now I understand what's happening and what's to come. I'm much more amazed at the way our Creator made us to carry these little people. But I'm also thankful that He gave our bodies the ability to bounce back to almost where we before, even if it does take months!
